The range of housed bearing units offers a widechoice of cast iron, pressed steel, synthetic rubber,thermoplastic or stainless steel housings fitted withspherical outside diameter self-lube bearing insert.They will generally accommodate initial housingmisalignment up to 0.030 radians, but are notrecommended for running misalignment in excess of0.001 radians. The general housing types are pillow blocks, flange units,take-up units, cartridge units and hanger units. Choice isvery much determined by the requirements of theapplication, although the aesthetic appearance of themachine design is often an important consideration. Housed bearing units have been designed to meet the needs ofboth criteria.

› Cast iron unit castings are made from high-quality castiron, and finished on pre-machined surfaces with anelectrostatic air-drying paint.

› Pressed steel housings are made from mild steel strip,and are zinc plated.

› Thermoplastic housings are moulded in high-grade PBT,a high quality thermoplastic polyester resin.

› Stainless steel housings are made from austeniticstainless steel castings (SCS13).
